224Amp MGMCompro ESC - 06.21.2007, 01:54 PM

I'm surprised that I'm posting about this first that I know of. I'm usually the last to know. New 224 Amp car controller from MGM...........

Mike may even have some come his way.

Here we go................................................ ....

Wow, that looks awesome! When will it be available and what will the cost be? Looks like Castle and Tekin might get skunked early if this thing hits soon - which it looks like it will.

I can't freakin believe I haven't heard anything about this thing. It might be a little pricey, but it might be the answer. Something has to happen soon. My Mamba Max has so many fans and heatsinks stuck to it that you can hardly see the little bugger in there.

most of the new MGM controllers are in stock (MGM local stock) so Mike should get them for you pretty fast I think

we had a chat with mgm guy few days ago whether to get 120A or 160A version for savage and he said both are in stock (hydroversion with heatsinks)

Oh, I don't know the price. I meant that it could be expensive. Hopefully not.

I noticed the uni-card programmer, nice way to program it, beats beeps and trigger movement

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

What did he suggest, 120A or 160A? Also, if they are the hydro version, you really can't run that on a car, can you?

There is a link somewhere on the site to a price list- but all the prices are in CZH currency- just a simple bit of conversion required. I believe the prices are more or less comparable to the older version escs. Hopefully there wont be any issues like poor AAngel has encountered; the man is jinxed.....
As for hydro versions being used in cars- its just a case of picking up the car version heat sinks later on/somewhere else, or making your own from a pc one ( they screw down over the fets on the top & bottom of the esc ).

224A is a lot, but what the heck would need that kind of power? 224A at 18 cells would be over 4,800 watts! No single cell I know of can deliver that kind of current and maintain voltage over 1v. And sure, you can parallel them, but then weight would start to climb fast. A parallel bank of 18 cells would be over 5lbs! (assuming 65g each). Personally, I'd rather take a ~150A controller capable of 6s+ and use higher voltage with a matching motor to make the power I need.

Of course, you boat guys need that kind of current. I'm talking land vehicles. :)
