e revo version 2.0 - 06.04.2007, 05:58 PM

eel i decided i wanted a nitro revo for racing so i am rebuilding my electric revo and it will have the same ext. chassis and novak hvmaxx with lipos but i will be using a gmaxx trans, i just won this and hope its as good as it looks, it will be easy on me to have two trucks instead of sharing parts with the nitro revo , anyway here it is

I'm not sure what is considered low gearing on a maxx, but I would start on the low side, check temps, and increase pinon and/or spur ratios slowly. I've heard the HV systems are kinda sensitive to overgearing.

Gearing is fun with the HvMaxx. Depending on your rtr weight about 30:1 is a good starting point- overall drive ratio that is, then move up on the pinion a tooth at a time until you hit the sweet spot for your particular setup.

that sounds about right, i think in my first version i was aoun 28.5:1 so ill try to just match the pinion/ spur ratio , as soon as i check to make sure the trans ratio is the same as a revo, easier for me to just do one than all

Cool. Just incase it hasnt already been mentioned, check out BrianG's speed calculator- you can find your ratios using the revo diffs & emaxx tranny very easily. Shame it didnt have the TXT-1 diff ratio in there for my project back along...

Hehe, I think I've forgotten 90% of what I learnt at school/6th form- far more important things to think about these days like the price of lager & aftermarket truck part manufacturers....
