Help me upgrade my E-Maxx tired of braking parts! - 12.31.2005, 12:18 PM

I love my E-Maxx and i love to have the slipper clutch all the way in the truck will flip over backwards and is so much more fun!

I keep braking half shafts (i've broke 2 already) and i'm sure the extra stress will brake other parts in time so i would like to upgrade all the shafts to something stronger and any other parts that you guys think will brake sooner or later. The truck is all stock there is so many parts out there i don't know what will fit and what wont. Can you guys post some links to some half shaft upgrades that will fit the stock e-maxx it is the new e-maxx not the older one.

What about the diff and trans can they handle much power? I will probably get a better motor some time so i would like to go ahead and upgrade the stock parts to handle the extra power.

First of all, welcome on the forum's!

What your looking for are cv's from tranny to diff's. Unlimited engineering has them in titanium that won't break, Mike can hook you up with these.

I don't know what stuff you want to upgrade, what budget you have, intention to go brushless in the future and if you want to keep the truck as much stock as possible. So if you can be a bit more specific I can help you further.

I would probably go brushless in the future and maybe a differant Chassis and suspension if i had trouble with the stock ones braking from the extra power.

Budget wise $500 for now. For right now i really just want to run it with the slipper clutch all the way tight without braking parts. I checked out Unlimited engineering and i don't really know what parts will fit the e-maxx i have there site says SuperMaxx whatever that is.

Can you post links to the things i need?

Thanks.

Welcom to the forums chris.
Center cvds
6mm cvds need 2
These are a little stronger
You may want to get these for you transmission. Make it a lot stronger.
You may want to consider the 1/8 buggy diffs later on. Make a really tough drive train.

Peace!

The Center cvds........ one looks longer than the other? On my truck they look to be the same.?

6mm cvds need 2 ........in the info it says "Stock width suspension CVDS are also available "?

Do you think if i installed all these things i could trun my slipper clutch all the way in without braking parts?

If you run the 6mm cvds and metal idler gears with the titanium center shafts. The only part i would worry about would be the diffs. If you running the titans I wouldn't worry about them but so much. The pic for the center shafts is used in all of the choices. The bottom one is the one I was talking about. You can email mike and he can hook you up with all the stuff you need. You may want to look at running the flm hybird for the 1/8 buggy diffs if you bash alot. I run the 6 spyder gears with no problems yet.

Peace!

The center cvds shown were the ones for extended chassis, are you gonna run stock length chassis? If so the MIP seem to look pretty good.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

They shouldnt break too fast if you dont put too much power through them, how many cells are u gonna run?
