LSP Conversion - Rotated diff

It was an interesting build - Using an outrunner hybrid at the moment but think I can get a 1512 in that gap so will see what the MMM brings - I have about 70-75mm to play with.

The hybrid is pretty hard to turn over and can lock the front wheels! Mamba is doing ok but need some juice to get it to start.

Raining in NJ but hopefully will get to give it a run at the w/e -

Really like it. Nice job. Different than the "standard" setup.... If there is a standard. Basically you are putting the motor whee the fuel tank used to be. and the lipo where the motor was. It will probably handle very similar to the stock setup so setup sheets you find on line might actually be usefull. Thats actually about the only thing that bugs me about the conversions. The set ups that work well for others are usually a littel "off" for the conversion and you have to feel it it rather than just stealing somone elses good setup.


What made you go with 2 battery packs? And what are you using for the bettery boxes? Thye look great. I'd like to find one like that for a project.

I made the battery boxes myself from kydex that I got rchippie - big thanks.

Took me a couple of tries to mount them - I ended up making a set of brackets to hold the rear brace and protect the driveshaft. Very happy with how that came out.

I thought that twin batteries would help with balance - Also have 2 x 3s2p 4200 maxamps and I broke down my A123's in to smaller packs - 2*3s2p , 2*2s2p, 2*3s1p , 2*2s1p - That way I can easily go from 5s to 10s A123 or 3s/6s Lipo with no isues.

Is it Hybrid motor from hobbycity?
How it performs? DO you have eagle tree recorder any detailed info about this motor? What motor temps and etc.

Looking good. Interesting motor choice (light wheight compared to a 1512 or 1515 Neu motor and much cheaper too). I use the same setup (rotated diff, motor in front and 2 batts behind the CD) in my truggy and love the handling. I already used it in my buggy. With those bulky A123 you don't have much of a choice. Also looking forward to see it perform.

OK So that motor choice didn't pan out - now have 50 worth of smelly motor - Forget those hybrids... Ripped it open to have a look - the wiring is so thin.

I ran for about 2 mins on 15/46 5s a123 but was too slow so tried 18/46 5s a123 and 3 mins later poof! Don't look like it took out the mm. I had the eagletree on at the time so will try to get some pics of that up.

The LSP went really nice though so will look out for another motor to try or wait until the MMM combo comes of age!
