So far 10 runs through Revo 3.3.... tranny input gear stripped! - 10.06.2007, 02:21 PM

The Revo tranny is moe weak, only about 10 or more runs through it and I now have a useless truck, I just stripped the input gear on the tranny running on pavment. I am very easy on the throttle, then suddenly it stops moving and I hear a grinding noise.

Does anyone know if there are metal gears for the Revo tranny that I could get? Otherwise I will pop my GM single speed into it. thanks.

Have you open the tranny to see if it's the gear who's broken or just the pin who hold it on the input shaft?

I've had mine for a while and never stripped the gears. Seems quite a tough tranny to me.... RR does have gears, but they are expensive, plus I'm not sure how the 2nd gear lock would work, the holes seem larger. I'm sure theyre is a way, just needs some thinking tho

Yes, check that. The gears seem to hold up fine, but those chintzy pins do break and that has the same symptoms as a stripped gear. With a little modification, the output shaft pin for a Jato works well. It's just a tiny bit bigger and is made of stronger metal.
