i want to use a plug between motor and esc is it possible,if not i would like to use 10 gauge butt connector with soldered joints what would you suggest

They make motor plugs to do this. That way if you have the motor wired wrong you can swap two wires. Mike should have some on the site.

I don't know if Mike has these, but I use 4mm gold connectors:
