Neu 1509 motor Question - 11.23.2007, 03:56 PM

Has anybody tried the Neu 1509 with the Mamba Max (MM) controller? Does it work?

As noted in numerous RCM threads...the Neu 1515 motors and the MM are the perfect recipe for excessive cogging. I am just curious if the same problem exists with the 1509 motors.

Thanks for the help/info.

FALSE!!! I've the 1515 1Y with MM in my revo (before to switch to MGM 16018) and it was very smooth. NO COGGING AT ALL.

Don't know for the 1509, but thrust me, the 1515 and the MM, when well geared, you'll noto have any problem

david - what gearing were you using? Any specific settings on the MM also?

The MM/Neu cogging seems to be hit or miss. My 1512 always cogged. I had to give my truck a push-start to get it going. As long as I didn't stop, it would run fine after that.

All I know is I currently have two mambas and two neu motors...geared 9 pinion and 51 spur (Mod 1) in my CRT and they both cogged terribly. I played with the USB settings and tried various combinations and never could get it to clear up. Were you using the Tekno RC conversion kit with the clutch?

Either way...I am happy it worked out for you. However I am really interested in hearing from anyone that has tried a 1509/Mamba combo.

PM me if interest.

If you would have made that offer two weeks ago I would have jumped at it, but I just bought a 22418 for my Jammin X-1 CRT pro.

The reason I am asking the whole 1509/MM question is because I am also working a CRT.5 project and I really like the 1509 motors...and I have a spare MM. I don't really want to use Castle's 5700kv motor that came with the ESC.

I think IBJammin runs a Neu 1506 w/MM in his crt.5 with absolutely no cogging. He too has(or had) a full size crt w/MM and Neu 1515 that cogged, but the smaller Neus with MM seem to work fine. I cant confirm this fully though, ask him.....

Bye

Hello,
i ran a 1509/1.5d with an MM esc and a 12t pinion in a crt.5 and had no cogging at all, everything was very smooth; if you want something very powerful 1509 is a great choice for the little crt.
