Which Revo Center CVD fits the Hot Bodies Pinion Cup?
I just got the RCM Hybrid Revo Diffs with the 1/8th gears. I ordered the THS Racing Center CVD kit from Tower and they don't fit the HB pinion cup. That ball on the end of the CVD is too big. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRLN4&P=7
Which Revo Center CVD fits? I really don't want the MIP's. Is there another one that fits?
Aside from having mike make you a custom dog bone for the center, most of the maxx based cvds will fit the hb cups. I had the same issure with the ths cvds I bought for my racebomb project. They are the diff to wheel cvds so I just bought the output shafts that mike sells and will use the ths supplied cups. Do the ths cups fit the hb pinion, or is the pinion's shaft to big? If so have it turned down? to fit the ths supplied cup.
You have the hb cup correct? It is 8mm, as is the pinion shaft (makes sense as they are designed to fit together). The ths cvds have a larger ball than a std revo/maxx cvd. You could drill the included ths cup out to 8mm and us it in place of the hb cup. Not sure if there is enough material left for the set screw to hold though. Nothing like a little "interface" issues to really get you aggrevated, huh?!

Uh huh
The THS cups use a smaller set screw and the cups are longer. I think that would bring other issues, even if I am able to drill them. That's some really hard stuff.
My first thought was to drill the HB Cup to 9mm where the ball goes. Titanium barely scratches it, so I stopped after just scratching it. LOL
Mike just told me the Savage Cups use the larger CVD balls. In looking around, I notice there are two different sizes of them.
Not too sure, I can ask my lhs buddy tomorrow to check and see if he has a savage cup floating around. I used a savage diff in my center diff revo but changed out the outputs for mikes cusom outputs. I can check the old savage cups from that diff to see if they will fit the ths cvds I have. My cvds are for a maxx, but they definately have a larger ball on the end, so hopefully they are the same size as yours. I will do this tomorrow morning when I get to work and post my findings.
