Torsen Diffs - 12.26.2007, 08:07 PM

Just curious if anyone here has tried Ofna Torsen Diffs in any of their brushless projects?

I have heard that the torsen diffs don't hold up very well to brushless power...is this true?

I have not tryed them but I hear they cant hold the power, I would not try it. Daf on this forum tryed them and they didnt hold up. Xray is coming out with their version and it may be stronger.

The Xray "Active Dif" is out now for a month or so. I have been running it in the front dif of my XB8 since the day after it was released and it has had no issues. It sould be good. Only problem... It only fits the xray buggy diff housings. The xray difs are a little different than the Kyosho/HB/Ofna diffs which are pretty much interchangable.

So its really only an option if you have an xray. Its also really only designed for the front dif, but it would work in the rear also. The ring gear is a different configuration on the inside where the internal gears meat up with it so the center dif spur gear wont fit the active dif.

and yes... torsen difs dont hold the power.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
