How do I use mech. brake w/ tekno conversion? - 01.05.2008, 12:18 PM

I have futaba 3pk and the conversion.. Using Mamba max esc and I also have the CC bec and i want to use the mech. brake that was designed for. channel 1 is for steering, 2 is for esc and 3 is for the bec. then where do I put the plug for the mech brake? do I have to use a y connector or something? also, does any one know how to progrm the radio to use in conjunction to use brake servo and the motor at the same time?

one more thing.. how do I get rid of the brake in my ESC?

thanks..

Chanel 3 is not for the BEC. Your BEC should plug in the BAT slot of your Rx.
You plug the ESC in chanel 2 (remove the red wire of the ESC signal plug and insulate it if you use an external BEC) and your brake servo plug in chanel 3.
What you ave to do:
Set your ESC to the lowest brake setting, or if you can, cancel the brake in your MM programmation setup.
Now, set your Tx End point adjustment chanel 2, full trottle set at 100% and brake set at 0%.
now, set the chanel 3 End Point, full trottle set at 0% and full brake set at 100%.
Now, (i hope you have the MIXING fonction on you 3PK) mix chanel 2 and 3. Master will be chanel 2 and slave will be chanel 3.

So when you'll put full trottle, your ESC will give you full trottle and when you'll ginve full brake, the ESC will not brake but your brake servo will give you full brake.

I've the Futaba 3PM fASST 2.4gHz and an e-revo and it,s exactly like that i've setup it.

I've keep the two speed in the tranny, use the wide ratio and i'am gear 18/38 with a Neu 1515 1Y ad MGM 16018.

Hope i'll help you

Regards

David

OK,, I dont know why its not working but here what I did.

Im using 2 2S 4000 to make up 1 4S in series.

I did what was told to me and nothing works now.. I took out the red wire from the esc and put that into channel 2, and bec into channel 3. Now, nothing works. Before when I took out the red wire, I put the esc plug on channel 2, and bec on channel 3 plug, and everthing worked except that i didnt know where to put the brake servo wire. When I got the Bec, the cover showed to put the esc into 2, and the bec to 3 w/o any ommission of the red wire in channel 2. When I look into CC website, it shows to take out the red wire in the ESC plug.. Now im confused.. here are the pics..

any help is appreicated.. thanks,

Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!! i've tell you to put the BEC in chanel BAT,not in the chanel 3!!!!!!!!!! That's the brake servo that goes in the chanel 3

Take your time and re-read what's i've write for you in my previous post:

Chanel 3 is not for the BEC. Your BEC should plug in the BAT slot of your Rx.
You plug the ESC in chanel 2 (remove the red wire of the ESC signal plug and insulate it if you use an external BEC) and your brake servo plug in chanel 3.

Now, (i hope you have the MIXING fonction on you 3PK) mix chanel 2 and 3. Master will be chanel 2 and slave will be chanel 3.

And your link for the pics don't work at all!

I did put the brake on channel 3 and b/c on the bec.. but now nothing works.. not steering and throttle..

on the instruction that came w/ bec states nothing about pulling the red wire out, but at CC website it does. Does this have anything to do with running the batt in series?

With the MM controler, you don't have any choice to use an external BEC as the CC one, becaus ethe internal MM BEC don't support 4s li-po.
So if you have wired 2 x 2s in serie, you have a 4s, right?
So remove the red wire on the 3-colors wired (red, orange and brown one who exit from the controler) and isolate it. Plug it to the chanel 2 of your Rx.
Now, take your CCBEC and plug it in the BATT chanel of your Rx.

The black and red input wird of your CCBEC must be conect to the black/red input wired of your controller, so when you plug the li-po pack on your controller, the CCBEC will be energized.

Try it and re-post here to tell me if all is OK!

yep i tried that still nothing works.. its worse than b/4.. I put the bec in channel 3 and esc in 2 w/o taking out the red wire. when I did that, all worked except that i didnt know where to put the brake servo.. now, when i put the esc w/ red wire taken out and the bec in batt. channel, and the brake servo on 3, the bec, lights up with green light, but steering and throttle doesnt respond.. on the diagram that came w/ the bec states nothing about taking out the red wire, and states putting it in channel 3..

really confused..

Did you connect the bec to the esc power leads? If you're still stumped do you have a rx pack you cann throw in and try that instead of the BEC?

Yep, maybe your CCBEC is toasted. Like said Matthew, try with a reciever pack on the BATT slot. And don't forget to remove the red wire on the ESC cable.

I got a new bec and did the same thing and no steering and throttle. I hot wired the red w/red wire on the esc along with black and pulled out the red wire in the channel 2 and put the bec in channel batt. what do I do with the on/off switch from the ESC? do I have to hot wire this as well?
