Anyone have too many toys?? - 01.06.2008, 05:47 PM

I find that I have too many toys to allow me to play with them all. I'm into ATV's, motorcycles, boats, RC's, TV's etc. I find that I like them all pretty much the same but I can't seem to use them all. I'm thinking of getting rid of my motorcycle because I'm not riding it currently since its the middle of the winter but then I know come summer time I'll want another one. I go through the same with the boat since its sitting in my garage. But come summer I'll want it back. I find myself deeply involved with RC's again especially since my first Brushless experience. I LOVE brushless. So all my efforts are for getting rid of the toys I'm not using (motorcycle and Boat) so I can afford to get a really nice brushless setup. Hopefully I'm not the only one. Who else has this problem?
Sorry for the long post.

man I have a ttr125, a ktm 200xc, a brushless rustler, and a brushless revo, and an mgt on the way. I feel like I need more toys but I really only use the revo, and my ktm everything else just sits around

I must have about 40 rc vehicles, a 2000 zx12r, 67 fairlane, 86 f250 big block drag truck, 2002 f150 lightning, 2001 mb slk230, 250 recon, etc. Way too much stuff to play with. And then there are all of my guns, some I have had for years and never shot! I feel your pain, just when you want to get rid of some stuff you find an new desire or use for it!

Hey, you have more of a problem then me. My wife is looking for buyers anonymous classes I can go to. I can't seem to stay happy with anything. Now I'm really getting into brushless stuff. My wife is going to kill me!!! I can see right now that my new EMAXX after all is said and done is going to cost me close to 2k. I'm never happy with something that could have been faster. My motorcycles and ATV's have progressed the same way. I've gone from 600 CC motorcycles to my current 1300 FJR and my ATV's went from a 400 CC KFX to my 800 Can am Renegade. I can see that RC's are going to be much the same way. Luckily I got rid of my sports cars or I'd really be broke. They can cost you tens of thousands instead of a couple thou.

I don't have a problem with the toys. It is time that I don't have enough of. Someone figure that out and I'll buy the answer. If you can do an extra 4 hours a day I'll take it.

i find that i recycle the groups of toys. i've bought and sold numerous electric r/c's (although they keep getting more and more expensive and powerful with each version), a gibson les paul mated with a gibson super goldtone amp, a larrivee lv-09ce acoustic guitar, a 100% custom freeride full suspension Trek Liquid mountain bike, and other... 'toys'.

i try not to sell too much... when i'm bored with my r/c's, i pull out one of my guitars and learn a few new songs. or pick up a new game for my xbox 360 that'll take up a week or two. and i'm on my mtn. bike as long as there's no snow on the ground, which is about 8-9 months out of the year here in MI.

i hear mark about the lack of time to enjoy them all... i'm also now finding lack of space for all of this stuff! thank goodness i don't make enough money to collect and modify 1:1 cars/trucks... although i have been close to getting a motorcycle.... (gulp)

My evil addiction outside of rc has always been home theatre and high end audio. I found its real hard to sneak a krell amp past my wife so the money goes to rc :-)

Never Enough. - 01.07.2008, 06:20 PM

We can never have enough toys to play with. It never gets boring, and yes we are spoiled by our way of life these days. Besides, my wife is happy that I have a hobby that keeps me at home most of the time. There are a lot of guys out there who poor their hard earned money & their wife's money down the drain with booze, strippers, smokes and drugs. So she is happy for me to have RC stuff. At least she cannot complain about where I am.

I'd have to say that right now my favorites are RC's. I can work on them inside and then bundle up and play in the cold. The other toys end up sitting around except maybe the atv's when I get time to take a weekend trip.

Time certainly will be much more of an issue when my wife and I have our first kid in June!!! Everyone at work keeps telling me that when the kiddie comes my toys go away. I seem to think that when the kids come then my toy choices will change but they will never go away. Probably more RC's!!! Some for the kids, more for me, maybe even the wife can get in on it. Though I've had trouble getting her started in the hobby.

Jerry I use that line almost once a month when I want a new toy.

Steve I love Home theater too but I'm running out of room in my house for speakers and tvs. I used to be into high end stereo's but that can get REALLLY expensive. And my neighbors don't like it.

Here is my garage:

I have way too much to keep me busy but I always want more!

C-5Quad and paralyzed it’s great that you guys have RC’s to keep you busy

C-5Quad how did you get hurt, if you don’t mind me asking. If you rather not talk about it I understand.

I always try to teach my kids safety on there motorcycles, but I know bad things can happen. I have a good friend who crash a CR125 when he was 14 years old (about 10 years ago now). They tell him he is lucky to be alive but he will not be able to walk every again. He took it really well; now he is into boats and bought a Honda Odyssey ATV

(both use hand controls)

I have 4 fully built race quads (2-mx hybrids, xc 400ex, and a play 400ex) thats where my money has been going ever since i got out of RC the first time, before that i built a halfpipe for skateboarding, I have a fullsize FMX ramp, have a 3/4 mile motocross track at my house, my race trailer for the quads, 3-micro-ts, trinity now, brushless LS10, mini-lst2, 3- RC helis (two are brushless). I havent went dirt jumping in awhile but it still have my Haro Backtrail X3.

Thats pretty much it, and yes i have way to many toys for a 19 year old Im trying to get down to just 2 quads right now (selling my play 400ex, and parting out one hybrid so i can keep the motor for a spare since ill only have one MX'r after that.) I plan to start racing RC some this year as long as it doesnt conflict with my MX.

That garage looks alot like mine. Though I keep the workbench for the RC's downstairs in the basement. I can't wait till I can build another garage. I certainly would love the room.

I have my computers and games, RCs and my mountain bike. I struggle to find time for the mountain bike as I don't like having to drive to go riding and it takes all day to ride to good spots and back. I ride to work everyday but that isn't much fun. My computer used to be a work of art but RC has taken over. I tend to go through phases though and I'm sure RC will get put on the shelf and I will go back to spending all my spare time on my pc or riding.
