Castle Sidewinder Brushless system First Look - 01.16.2008, 09:46 PM

Guys,

Just received my advanced media release of the Castle Sidewinder.

No fancy CastleLink interface, just old school style programming with limited configurations.

Little depressing not having the software that makes CC's worh having ?!?!?!????
Guess the Mamba Max is still top of the heap. Till 2012' when the MMM finaly comes out hahaha- or the world ends ;)

If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...

That's what I thought, but proto-to-product, stuff like that can happen. Makes me more hip to getting one :)

Castle wouldn't forsake the castle link!

They did talk of getting rid of brushed mode, which I was against! Turns out the first firmware didn't get brushed mode included by mistake anyway.

Yeah yeah, CasteLink capable, but no USB interface - Sorry wasn't clear about that. You'll need to buy the signal cable CastleLink adapter.

Limits
FWD ONLY - None 540 motors
FWD/RVS - 19T limit (actually surprised me)
3S LiPo 8 NiCell 15Volt Max

Other Tech Specs are absent.

I will post more as I have a change to test.

Does not come with the link adapter thing? The Mamba 25 comes with it, so I would think this does too.

I really like that they scrapped the solder posts and used female gold connectors. You can still replace wires but it's much cleaner and nicer this way.

Jeremy Blair's car looked very good racing with this system last weekend. I didn't drive it though... never thought to ask. Stupid me....
