what would be the best and cheapest 100+ amps hv esc for a feigao xl...
it could be generic or not but my goal is cheap.
any links, advice, anything would be greatly appreciated.

By hv, what do you mean? More than -x-volts? Do you need brakes, or will you use the mech brakes?

Mgm would be the best bet, but you may get by with a quark 125.

Unfortunately I cant really recommend one that is "cheap" as nothing that is any good in brushless RC is cheap. But I have seen a couple people around this forum using a big flat controller that is rated for around 100A and 12s lipo. Not sure if they are any good or not, but they looked cheap to me. (not necessarily and good thing)

Yes, but "cheap", "brakes", and "5-7s a123" are just not going to go together. If using mech barkes the UH sentilion esc would be ideal. If going with 5s a123 max the mm would be ok. If you want all three then a mgm or maybe quark is about all that is going right now.

You could take a Kontronik Jazz 80-6-18. It has proportional brakes, can take up to 25V, 100A peak and isn't too expensive.
