New Official record on GPS and Video for MT again - 05.03.2008, 10:50 PM

Guys went out there today but had ALL kinds of problems. I put the 12S on the truck and couldn't keep the truck from going airborne. We had a bad crosswind around 15-20mph so it was not the best day to be out, but didn't have another day I could go. Best offical pass so far is now 78.6mph. The truck has been 80.3mph but it was not on video so not official. You will see on the 78.6mph video why I meant windy as the truck went completely airborne on the only fast pass I could get. All the other passes were aborted and the last pass I tried after the 78.6mph pass blew ANOTHER phaltine at 70.2mph according to the GPS and you will see it on the video. I'll have the video online on Monday.

Also we took out my buddies stampede with my 8XL/BK 9920 on 5S. With no body on it the truck ran 82.0mph and 76.8mph with the body on, so I will upload it as well.

Should be a good one. I'm loving this. Still kind of cool here in NJ, but when the heat comes along, I'll sure be looking for 100mph.

You and me both. The truck with 12S weighed in at 18.5 lbs......ouch. That 1521 is really suprising the crap out of me. Its still running 115-120 after several passes. Its the controller that is having a tough time keeping up. I'm still running these passes guys on the damaged controller that ran a few mph slower then when it wasn't damaged. I'm pretty certain with no wind and a full wind open pass the truck would have gone 82-83mph. Which is the end of the 1521's road. That is going to pretty much be all it can do. I'm going to crank the timing up to normal, or maybe try high, and stick with the 20T pinion. Those will be the key to the 82-83mph passes.

Enjoy the Video......for you guys asking about Phaltines, I left the video footage of it coming apart on one of the passes at 70.5mph. It blew and the truck lost control and headed toward the grass luckily. Anyhow with the wind blowing 15+mph it was hard to keep the truck down....next time above 80mph should not be a problem.

My Phatlines blew on a video of my truck taking flight . I think manufacturers have to make a Foam Phatline.

They are like a hardened plastic. Tough as crap is all I know on both. None of my other speed trucks that I tried messing with would hold up. The internal gears would melt. My 3905 emaxx kept melting gears as well and its suppose to be "brushless ready"....pppffsstt....yeah right.

I can tell you this....on the weekends when its not doing speed runs we are drag racing a marked off 200ft. It will stripe the stampede, rustlers...etc, and that is putting on the factory big tires. They bark hard the first 10 ft or so.
