I drive a couple time my savage flux and it easy to roll and losing the control, I think to order extended axles from savage xl for more wider stance. It is a good thing or it not necessary ?

Well if you get extended axles, you will need extended a-arms as well. The longer a-arms are what give your truck a wider stance and more stability. The axles are needed only if you have wider arms as well.

no no..

Only the axle is`ext, You need axle and spacer. It does make it wider by 2cm or so. All comes as part 86249.

Seems like a weak way to do it to me, but if it works, then its a very cheap and light weight way to get some extra width.

The FLux uses the same arms as the XL, X, and SS apparently. I did a search, and so far, nobody makes a wider arrm set (I didnt look at the FLM stuff yet...)

Personally, I think I'm going to try some full offset rims.

...have to agree that the XL axles DO look weak...

...you could also change to 8mm axles and use extended hexes there too...

My co worker is looking at the Flux how is it other than the stance...diffs etc,

The Str is actually not too bad. The axels are very thick, 8mm hardened steel I think. These are not whimpy 6mm chrome steel like a Maxx axel. You could do the hub conversion, but its expensive (unless someone knows a good deal???) and you have to get the super duty 8mm axels to fit the XL sized dogbones. I think thats what the hub kit as, but its like $60 list price or so. [edit: there are not 17mm hex hub axels that work with the super duty axels that come on the XL and Flux. Only for the smaller dogbones of the X abd below]

It is a goofy way to do it tho, and I don't know what its going to do the life of the bearings. So far so good tho for ~2.5gals. IDK why they just didn't do offset wheels. The stockers have 0 offset I think. I just decided I'm going to get the Axial 17mm 40 series wheels w/ 28mm offset when I need new wheels. IDK if its worth the $$ to change the axels around. Bearings are cheap enough.

No worries, they don't exactly make it easy do they? Just how many versions are there? lol

I've just had the advantage of playing and dissembling mine a lot recently.

The axles are a direct fit, the flux uses the same arms, dog bones and diff outdrives as the XL, only the axles are different to get the width.

I tried the HPI Universals for the Savage on the flux, but as they are designed for the "non heavy duty" diff outdrives (ie Savage 25, X, 4.6 etc) you get a lot of play in the diff cup.
