Mtroniks esc and Feigao motors. What timing? Cogging? - 03.26.2009, 03:46 AM

I have a few of their esc's and a few of these motors. The esc's have the follow options for timing, 0, 6, 12 & 18/20 degrees. Which one should I use for my feigao motors? (8s, 8l, 9l, 10l).

The instructions say 2 pole motors (Hacker) work best with 0 degrees whilst higher pole motors benefit from higher advance (12 degrees).

Also, for cogging. I know gearing plays a part, but does motor timing affect it at all?

Thanks

Leave it @ 0. These are older escs that just will cog more than the newer mm's and tekins and such. I had a Gen Pro that I liked alot, (waterproof :) ) but it wasn't the smoothest ever. Not bad, but not great.
