Anyone Know about burning lasers? - 02.17.2010, 10:00 PM

I stumbled across this and thought it was cool but pricey
http://www.wickedlasers.com/

Then I found you can make or modify your own
http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...rch_type=&aq=f

I ponder on this a little further and found I can get a cnc laser a little cheaper
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/High-Power-La...item2a03745603

I'm inclined to go with the later cause it's a little cheaper and will be more reliable than anything I make and it includes a laser driver but can I use this with batteries as a stand alone unit? Any help or advice is appreciated.

I don't own a burning lasers, but I do own a wicked laser, I believe it's the 5mW from awhile back, it's pretty fun at night... And to scare my friends cat.

I've had the standard pointer in the past but the balloon popping etc.. is what got me interested again.

I can learn how to mod them or make one with a blue ray but the one in the ebay link is 450mw. Much more grunt at $155. To get the equivelant from wicked lasers would be over a grand
