Welcome to the forums
for brushless setups what kind of speed and runtime are you looking for and also how many cells are you going to run.
as for steering servos a hitec 645 would do

speed/runtime/cells...... uh, i dunno..... like i said, im a newbie sorry....
im running 3000 mah ni-mh right now and am only getting about 10 min. of good runtime on stock stinger motor, no local tracks so this is all just messing around in yard and ditches, etc.... still dont seem very fast though, maybe 15 - 20 mph at most, dont have a radar gun, couldnt tell you for sure.
also, would changing gears in tranny to steel help and what sizes or where to buy?, completely new, i know nothing!!!!!!
just got out of motocross so thats all i know

Glad to see you made it here.
I have a all FLM Rusty. I use a Hitec 645 in my rusty and pede. Its a great servo.
As for brushless in my rusty I have the MGM 80 and Lehner 4200. I havent run it yet but I yet with it for a good balance of speed and runtime. For brushless you will want to go with high quality cells like GP or IB. I run 7 cell GP 3300 packs. I also have the steel diffs to put in my tranny as you will need it. The stock diff wont hold up very long with brushless power. Also make sure you upgrade to the aluminum idler.
Upgrading the diffs wont help with speed but only durability.
You can get everything you need right here.
Hope that help some.
Frank

holy crap that stuff is expensive....... maybe ill just stick with my stock stinger motor for a while longer unless i get into racing.... couldn't find hitech 645 either....
so how about new bodies, i ordered a "hemi cuda" body and got it today but it looks more for the t-maxx size trucks.....(which im getting in a few days), where can i find good bodies for my pede?

ok, so i've had a crap load of stuff on order for this change over, been a week and still haven't seen any parts yet from FLM or that damn EBAY seller.....
i did contact FLM and they deeply appalogized for the inconvenience and are shipping the products asap.... great customer service there...
still have decided on motor or ESC yet though... not sure if i wanna slam it for speed or raise it for bashing.

Well if you want more power and better run time. I would go with some better batteries. I think a set of ib 3800 or gp 3700 would give you more punch and longer runtime. You can get the metal gears from mike( owner of this fine forum) If you not breaking nothing it is no need in adding weight to driveline though. welcome to the forum to. I am new at the pede thing as well. I have been thrashing some bigger brushless around though.
Peace!

I hope you're not referring to your Stampede that will last forever . It won't with brushless power!
