Question about Losi 8ight center diff bearings - 06.05.2011, 10:15 PM

Pretty simple question: can I use standard 8x16x5 bearings on the Losi center diff instead of the 8x14x4 flanged bearings? If not, what about 8x16x4?

Not without changing the CD Mounts.

One side uses the 14mm bearing and maybe you could bore that side out. The other uses a bearing adapter and I am unsure but I think its bigger around than 16mm.

PS: If not using the 8ight mount. I dont see why not...

Oh yeah, sorry, I should have mentioned I would be using it in Ofna/Jammin diff mounts that use standard 8x16x5 bearings. Just need some shims to take up the extra space like when I'm using the Slipperential. I'll give it a try.

Going to try out a Losi Smart Diff in my 1/8 GT. I've heard mixed reviews about people using them in 1/8 e-buggies, but nothing for 1/8 on-road. Stiff/locked on-power and open off-power sound like just what I need in the center. I looked at the Ofna Torsen diff, but the Smart Diff and parts for it are cheaper and more readily available.
