What about a motor and esc hop up? Should I stick with a rustler or is there a better truck to start with. I see with motor hop-up's gearing is important. When I was at my LHS they said for the new Rustler getting different gears may be a problem. I would like to build something that can keep up or beat my nitro buddies trucks/cars since they said it can't be done

First off, welcome to the forums, second, what trucks are your buddies running? A good esc would be a warrior 9920/7020 on a Fieagio 8S.

OR the mamba max 5700(id reccomend this).

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

Yes just the way I like it. Is the mamba programable to slow it down? I could just put like a 1200 pack in it couldn't I?

Thanks for the welcome guys and info. I will be around for a long time I'm sure :037:

i am not sure but it would seem so for example in my m18t i will have a c4 and a quark 33a and 3cell lipo. these speeds would easly push 70 and up. But i never want to run it like that so what i do is get one lipo pack one matched cell pack and one 5v pack this 5v pack will keep it slow. But anyway it makes sense since with brushless it is all about the batteries. SO get a good battery and it is uncontrolable, get a bad battery in it and it becomes controlable but cinsiderably slower. I think this works. See what everybody else says. But dont get to bad of a battery

I wouldn't evne suggest a bad battery at all, just pick the correct system. Bit sure witha rustler, but I would go mm in it, maybe 4600???
