Only work with the novah hv motors, but they are a good price, and should breathe some life into the old hv system. I may try one out, we will see. I have a hv 6.5 motor coming so that may be its use!

Why will it only work with the HV motors?

Mini-T Pro: Micro Pro 6800kv, Lipo, HS-81mg, Dirt Hawgs
M18MT: Quark 33A, Y22S 6000kv, FP 2s Lipo
LRP S8-BX: RC-M Conversion, Tekin RX8 B1600KV, 6S.

The motor mount replaces the center sleeve of the hv motor, then that mounts to a vehicle specific plate. So the motor is held in the center, not the ends.

That would do it wouldn't it. That's a shame cause those conversion prices arn't that expensive but I suppose they will rake in the profits from motor/esc sales.

I have a 6.5 motor coming, and intend to run it with a MM. I may get the conversion kit, just not sure which buggy I want?

It has me a little concerned. A few of us around here have been promoting 1/8 buggy conversions for a while. We have a nice group of racers now and we are preparing for the outdoor season. Nearly all of us run the Mamba Max and Neu motors (there are a few Feigao's). This Novak kit is going to bring a new batch of guys into the loop, which is great. Problem is that they are going to find that their system is inferior. They will see the MM/Neu guys going 20-25 minutes with no problems, while they battle heat. They will find that they need to upgrade and their Novak kit is nearly useless. So, how many of these "new" 1/8 buggy racers will upgrade to a proper system and how many will just drop out?

I don't get why anyone would want a Novak kit.... unless you already have a HV system and no other use for it.

Kyosho 777

I guess Novak is taking advantage of the crowd that isn't aware of all the conversions around.

It is almost a ditect bolt in, so it will appeal to the type of people who lack the time or desire to fabricate parts.

This could backfire. If the system truly can't handle it, people may blame it on the conversion instead of the system, since mainstream rc car bl is pretty much just cc, lrp, and novak, so people won't doubt the system. I hope not though.
