Is it worth it? - 03.31.2008, 02:15 AM

As upgraded and as much money as I have put into my RC10GT, I just don't see it being that much fun anymore. When it was first built, of course it was fun because I have never drove a mid motor stadium truck. but now, I am just not getting the enjoyment I am looking for. My Revo is an absolute blast to drive as well as my old Xterminator 1/8 buggy.

I have upgraded just about every part on the GT, from when it was stock with the old tub chassis. So do you guys its worth it to sell it? It has maybe 3 or 4 runs on it (only 1 of those runs in the dirt, the rest were in grass or on the street), with only a couple scratches on the bottom. With the money, I would finish my CRT.5, and maybe start another project, but I'll leave that for another thread.

Anyways, what do you guys think? I just don't want to regret selling it as I did when I sold the Xterminator...

I hate to sell stuff like that. Especially if you are not sure... I would just keep it.

I know some guys that have sold a car and then later bought the same thing again... more than once.

I have a couple cars I sold/gave away a long time ago that I really wish I still had now, like my first r/c... original Kyosho Ultima with the ladder frame alum chassis.

Dude, just keep it, that is what I do. You never know when you will have a desire to run it again. I pulled the mm and 12s motor out of my pede, sold the lipo and robbed the radio system a few months ago. Now I just built a vxl pede roller and that is what I play with!

This is also the reason I have about 30 trucks and a dozen cars, plus a handful of boats. I even have rc targets when we go shooting!

They're right. You must have built that thing for some reason. If you really need the money that is one thing, but if not then shelf it for a while. You will probably go back to it later on and modify it somehow for another project. That is the cool thing about getting into this hobby. you can invest money into a project and sell it at any time and probably get a good chunk of your money back. The way I look at it these builds give us something constructive to do that keep us from getting into trouble doing something else less favorable. I do see some guys out there on the fence wanting to purchase upgrades for their R/C gear, and having to give up something less productive like smoking, or drugs to fund thier builds. What a trade off.

Take some neighborhood kid or nephew out and teach them how to run R/C with it. Share your toys with those less fortunate and fulfill some kids dream.

The downside to keeping all your cars... is that after a few years.... you have to explain to people why you have a hobby shop in your house/garage, lol.

This is true, that I why I bought some pegboard and leave all of the prices on stuff. You never know when someone may want to buy something.

I guess I'll just keep it then. I'm sure I will want to drive it later anyway. And in the mean time, I can add a few more upgrades to it.... Thanks for the recommendations guys.

I will porbably still keep it, but I am just curious. How much do you guys think I can get for it (everything minus the TX/RX/servo/ESC)? Pictures again are here:
