New and i've got a question... or 2

Hey guys!

I'm new to this forum but not the maxx... i've had it for about 5 years now so i know the truck more than the back of my hand.

Well to the point now... i seemed to have noticed alot of talk about the 1/8th diffs in the Hybrids on this forum. What is the best set of 1/8th diffs for the Hybrids?

Also i see this Muggy Diff Mod... Are the Muggy diffs comparable to the hybrids? What would you guys recommend?

Lastly... make sure your throttle linkage doesn't touch your spur... can be fatal but i got lucky! ha!

Well, any Ofna or HotBodies 1/8 diffs will fit for certain, as will the Jammin 1/8 diffs I think. The Ofnas are cheapest though, and quality is just fine by all accounts.

The FLM hybrids are really nice, though finish quality isnt all that amazing- a few rough edges and plenty of machining marks- do you like polishing?....

I personally use UE ultralite cases and HB 1/8 buggy diffs- solid, and beautiful too, and they fit inbetween any standard maxx type bulks.

The muggy diff conversion is rather cool, and they are most comparable to the UE option I reckon, if you get the alloy diff cases. As you wil have seen, it doesnt take much work to make them fit, but your gear ratios will be a little off, so you may need to adjust accordingly.

I bought the hybrid bulks Mike sells here :http://www.rc-monster.com/products.php?cat=45 with the HB diffs for my maxx. It is almost done...I am hoping Mike can make me a center diff mount w/ the motor above the diff so then I will have 1/8 diffs all around...

The Ofna diffs are the ones sold with UE diffs and with few exceptions, I've not read any complaints. They do require some periodic maintenance as any diffs others do. I put the Ofna diffs in the hybrids I bought basically cause I had a spare set. From what I've read the HB diffs work just as well, just be sure you understand which gearing you're getting if you go with the HB diffs, cause there are two different ratios. Bot require re-gearing, but the higher ratio will require more serious re-gearing.
