ROAR drops MT and 1/10 Truck from Nats -
05.08.2008, 07:23 AM
"On April 22nd, ROAR President Dawn Sanchez met with manufacturer representatives and Fuel Off-road Committee members in attendance at this year's Truck Nationals held at The Nitro Pit in Phoenix, Arizona. This group discussed the viability of re-combining the 1:8 Buggy Nationals with 1:8 Truck Nationals. It was decided that in order for this to work effectively, Production Monster Truck and 1:10 Gas Truck would have to be dropped from the Nationals program.
Those in attendance at the meeting were unanimous in their decision that this would be the most cost-effective method of handling Fuel Nationals. Not only would this be more cost-effective for teams and manufacturers, it would mostly help the privateer who has to go out-of-pocket for their expenses."

Wow, and I have been upgrading my Revo to race with sway bars, wing, etc. Oh well, they help for bashing anyway...

Why wouldn't they allow it in the truggy class? Can't you put a center diff in it? Or is it because of the 2-speed?
I just looked through the 2008 rules and can't find the rules for the truggy class. I hate ROAR, which is why I didn't bother to renew my membership.

Why isn't there another organization like ROAR? It seems all I hear is how they follow the recommendations of anyone who has deep pockets. Not sure how true this is since I don't race nor do I follow the sport.

There is, It's called RC Pro. They are not affiliated with IFMAR though, may be a good thing. Instead of dropping their MT and gas ST classes, They opened them up for electric, 4 stroke and diesels. All the racing in my area run RC Pro rules, Except for the oval stuff. Here's a link, they cover onroad off road in both Nitro and electric

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

ROAR= Ruling Out Awesome Racers
ROAR seems to be run by folks who like to make rules that keeps real powerful technology from going main stream.
