Mamba Monster help

Ok gurus here is my problem, my setup: 3905 emaxx ga bulks 40 series mashers proline powerstroke shocks, neu 1515 1y mamba monster true rc 2s 6400 mah lipos in series 62/24 gearing. When i power up and run for a minute or two it run nice then it starts to glich and run in reverse and i have to stop it , Help!!!

Are you only running 2s?

Are you using the stock AM radio? AM is quite sensitive to noise and these BL systems can cause quite a bit of it. At the least, an FM radio (or better a 2.4Ghz setup) is recommended.

Try moving the antenna as far away from the motor and power wires as possible and see if that helps. If so, the radio is probably at fault.

my battery leads and series connector are really long. should i cut the battery leads down, this is my first brushless truck any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I would suggest that you cut the battery leads down -- very long battery leads are really hard on an ESC.

Also, how hot is the motor getting?

glad someone came on the motor is a little warm i can hold it comfortably in my hand I tried it on 62/22 gearing and got the same glitching after a couple minutes of running.

well guys I cut the leads down to a nice lenght,changed the punch control to %60 changed timing to 5 degrees and after 4 or 5 minutes i get the same cogging and glitching and it starts running in reverse. So I change my batts to some cheapo venom 3000 mah nihm, and the problem goes away I run for 5 to 8 minutes with no problems is it the true rc lipos i am running they are rated 96a(15c)cont. 128a(20c)max.

Hello 3905er,

this problem seem like MMM don't support FUTABA PCM1024 mode.
If your receive is R113ip PCM1024, maybe has some problem.
Try change other FM (no pcm) with PPM receive.

Sent the controller in per request of castle engineer. Got it back today And it does the same thing. Tonite after work i put the stock radio in for the heck of it and what do you know it runs fine for 10min straight. So i guess Andy was on to something I just don't have any fm receivers to try it with.

Just finished running my truck with a fm receiver and it runs great so I don't think I ever had a problem with the monster. I think it was a frequency issue with my pcm reciever.

no, not frequency issue.

why futaba pcm receiver can't take mmm esc, becase the futaba pcm receiver inside pcm decoder ASIC out voltage level too low.
ppm high signal is 2.2~2.3V but mmm can't identify it is high.

so how to solve problems, just put a fail-safe unit in ch2, that's level go on 5v mmm can take and Run fine.

and why not use 2.4g or DSM receiver because range issue.

thats crazy. glad it works at least
