Zippy or Hyperion batteries? - 05.29.2008, 02:19 AM

So I've been waiting for the last part of my conversion to be in stock now all month: my Zippy batteries. It said they'll be back in mid may, since early may! I'm getting antsy now. I'm looking for a 6S battery with 5000mah. I saw some other company (in the US) has some Hyperions on sale for $199, while the Zippys are $134!

Should I wait it out for the Zippys (can't find anything bad about them), or just splurge on the Hyperions? Could they be any better?

Batteries are:
hyperion cl4800 6s
zippy h 5000 6s

I have Zippys, they are amazing packs, my 4200 held almost 4400mah!

Dont have anything bad to say about them

I would get the hyperion cl4800 over the zippy. The hyperion lipo uses enerland cells. The price is very good as well. Normally you'd expect to pay around $250-300 for a top of the line 6s.

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I love my Zippy pack. 6S 4500 type R. Has held up great! Only complaint is that they dont adhere each cell together. In my case, the cells tend to slide a bit around in the shrink wrap. When I get another Zippy pack, I will break it apart to glue the cells together and then re-shrink wrap it. This will keep the pack more stable in my battery holder.

both companies have good reps but i wouldnt wait for the zippys to be available because there are other good quality lipos for the same cheap price thats all im saying..which is the truerc's. and hyperions are good if you wanna fork out some more cash.

But the truerc packs can't supply the current that the Zippys do. Even the 8000mah truerc only does 80A continuous vs the zippy-H 5000mah that does 100A continuous.
