My converted Losi 8ight - 06.26.2008, 03:38 AM

I just finished my conversion.....

-RCM Batterytray and motormount
-Fiegao 8XL
-Mamba Max
-CC BEC
-POLYQUEST 5000mah, 4S
-Gearing 16/48

I just got the wiring ok, however, when i get my MMM it will be changed. I have a Medusa 36-60-2000 waiting to be put in there but as the medusa is very "open" im waiting om the neu-front/back-cover (if anyone have a good solution on how to solve the "open-ness" with the medusa, please let me know, with picture if possible).... so this is not the final product. But here goes:

I like the solution to the viring to the fan, really easy to replace if necessary

Body on (not to happy about the paint job)

your planning to fit the end cover on the medusa? sure it will fit? those trays are very tempting... but just too expensive when you need 2! i think i will be doing so home made ones first... nice once again

yeah, just making sure... u could ask mike to make one, as he personally makes the covers too!! which is why it was so easy to just mill out a bit more to allow for the screws in the newer Neu. but it looks very tidy.

Nice neat install, have you had the chance to run it yet?
Yes, but just outside my house, it has been raining for a week now

To solve the "open-ness", cut a piece of lexan. For the front, sandwich it between the motor and the mount. For the back, see if you can use a small length of heatshrink to hold it there.
Thanks for the tip, i might try that

No, i finally put it to the test, it runs really nice! after 30 min of driving on the track the motor was 59 Centigrade..... gearing is 14/48 but its a little to slow so im going to try 15/48 or 16/48. But i am very happy with the medusa... it seems to be a nice alternative to the Neu.....

I just got a new wing, body & tires:

Now im just waiting for the second batch of MMM to ship out from CC..... then it is complete.....

I thought it would be nice to be on the safe side, it was easy to make a end cover out of lexan so..... I have heard that the medusa tends to run hot..... however it is allot cooler then a Feigao XL, thats for sure......
