Bought my first car today -
07.08.2008, 11:40 PM
Not first veichle but 1st car lol, ive traded alot of trucks, but i just bought and financed my 1st car today. Its a 2006 Nissan Sentra Special edition, its loaded out only a year and a half old as it was purchased new in april 06, it has 24,000 miles and not a scratch on it. It should do a good job of keeping my truck alive for many years to come (has 1/4 of a million miles already)
sorry i dont have any pictures of it today as i didnt get home till after dark but ill post some tomorrow.
btw i didnt even know it but i have a 786 credit score appearantly thats pretty good as i got a 5.24% rate @ 48 months for the car without a co-signer. I dunno how it got so high as i have only had my credit and debit cards for not even 2 years, i did already payoff my truck loan (in half the time the loan was for) maybe that helped........

I used to look down on economy cars, but after working on everything for the last 15 years, and seeing the gas price increases, they make sense. Better gas mileage, plus less initial cost, and maintanence costs. Cars are a huge waste of money, they are the 2nd most expensive item most people buy (house is the 1st) and only go down in value while you own it. They are a necessary evil though, can't walk everywhere!
I have always had some sort of high performace v8 car or truck (currently have an 02 lightning) and gas cost never really bothered me. It does now. Enough that I am currently using my 2000 Kawasaki zx12r as my daily driver. (please note humor of driving a 200mph capable 170whp bike as a daily driver!) I only have 1.5 miles to work, but using the bike for that and short in town runs, has cut my gas costs in half, plus I buy less at the lhs (no room on the bike for r/cs)
Congrats on the little nissan, it should serve you well, plus you will spend less on gas, and use less gas, which is what we all need to do, as it is not going to last forever...
I feel my next car purchase will be a honda accord 4 door (for the wife, she has an f-150 supercrew). With the 4cyl engine. I have an older sentra, 97 I think, that I may convert to electric. Still doing research on that though...

I ride a 2007 Honda 600rr everyday. I even ride it in the rain if it is not to bad. really helps with the cost.

good luck with your new car. what r/c are you going to buy with all the gas money you save?

That's cool and when gas is almost $5 gallon a smart move on your part.
I have to ask the question no one else has asked… Did you get suckered into buying the extended warranty (?)..

its still under the 3 year 36k bumper to bumper and then is has a 5 year 60k powertrain and no im not a sucker, i didnt buy the extended warranty junk. The gasmileage will be nice but most of all i wont be driving a 100 miles a day and wearing my truck out as the only time i really need to drive my truck is on the weekends pulling my race trailer and going to the mx track
