Which convesion kit? Rc-Monster or RCProduct design? - 07.13.2008, 03:45 PM

After much comtemplation, I decided to get Mugen MBX truggy due to the fact that I had mugen in the past and the quality is excellant and it was on sale at amainhobbies. Anyways,

here is my proposed set up
Hyperion 5S 4800 20C batt.
Neu, 1512 2.5D/F 2050kv
MMM esc

But which conversion? I want to use Mech. brake if i could so which would be better choice? better layout of the servos, esc, recv. etc. Any help willl be appreciated. thanks..

As far as I know you can still use mech. w/the RCM set up...I have a mbx-5 and I can use mech w/my set up. I have chosen not to use the mech. brakes for now, but, I have the option if I want it.....besides, support the monster:)

the rc product designs setup isnt designed to use mechanical brakes. There arent any mounting holes on the motor mount to screw the brake pad caliper metal squeezy things in (technical jargon) as an option like the RCM mount does.

Some of the RCPD kits require changing out the centre diff - the RCM uses the standard Diff...

+ 1 RCM

it seems like everyone is telling my to go with RCM mount. I'll do that. I like the clean layout of the rcm mount whereas the RCPD seemed cluttered. Doen anyone here have a pic the mugen conversion? also, how do I mount the batt. tray to the chassis? do i have to drill holes ot the chassis? thanks..

Yeah, you're going to have to do a little drilling an customizing with the rcm tray. I would definitely go with RCM products. All mike's products are top of the line and look 10x better than his competitors. Plus you get the best online forum for conversions anywhere.

There's two sides to every schwartz, he got the up side and I got the down side.
