How did you keep the fan blades from hitting the cover w/mods....spacers? I disabled the internal bec from the rec. wire and am using a cc bec. Hopefully this will help....If I can get the fam mod done I should be good to go

The easiest way is to just cut the whole grill out of the top case and then smooth the inside edge of big round hole it leaves. Even with a little spacer in there to keep the blades from hitting it still didnt 100% solve the problem for me. I didnt have a single fan fail after i just cut the whole grill out.
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
By doing that doesn't that leave the fan really exposed.

not as exposed as it is strapped to the top of the MM. or on the motor or something. The case is still above the fan, just not right over the blades so it cant catch on the case.

Thanks for the tip...I have been waiting to run my mmm w/everyone else having probs. With the advice of everyone hopefully, I will be able to keep it going...
