U-Force 75, lehner 5300 Problems -
10.17.2005, 04:23 PM
i now have tacoprerunners FLM Rustler to go along with my other BL Rustlers and BL stampedes.
i am having a problem with the U-Force 75, lehner 5300 combo that it came with.
when i connect any 3000mah 7cell pack to the controller, system beeps fine for startup. go to run the car and will run for a few seconds, then i lose motor power and i only get steering. system will make startup beeps again, work for a few seconds more and then the same thing.
here are my DIL switch settings
DIL #1 - ON
DIL #2 - OFF
DIL #3 - ON
DIL #4 - ON
DIL #5 - OFF
DIL #6 - OFF
anyone have any ideas?
thanx,
justin

Try another batteriepack!
it sounds to me, like it has got a loose contact (darn funny, considering it's a schulze setup, but it's likely)
It can be a voltage drop from the pack as well, due to a loose contact or poor batteries. Does one cell get very hot in particullar?
What cells are you using?

Welcome to the forums, Justin. :)
I would bet on the batteries. The Schulze controllers do exactly what you describe when the voltage drops too low(55 some odd % of initial voltage at plug in). Low quality batteries drop voltage in a hurry when under a load. Try another set of batteries, or even better battery connectors as Serum mentioned. It seems like low voltage based on your description.

thanx for the welcome guys. ;)
i dont think it is the batteries, because i have used them with my other BL setups. hey who knows, maybe.
1. schulze 12.97 w/ B50 8L on 12cells.
2. Hacker Master Competition w/ lehner 5300 on 7cells.
3. Novak SS5800 on 7cells.
i believe it is geared 16/84, but i am not sure because i didnt install the spur. i am going to look when i get home tonight because it may be 16/87. my other 5300 in my stampede seems much faster which i am 90% sure is geared 16/84 (with same batteries).
i dont think it has anything to do with the gear ratio, or the motor/controller though.
1.) i tested the lehner 5300 with my schulze 12.97 with almost the same results.
2.) i tested the the U-force 75 with my lehner 4200 with almost the same results.
3.) i tested the lehner 4200 with my schulze 12.97 with almost the same results.
i am thinking that there is something wrong with my Hitec Lynx FM TX/RX to get the same results like that. i have a different set of TX/RX i am going to try tonight.
here are my DIL switch settings
DIL #1 - OFF
DIL #2 - OFF
DIL #3 - ON
DIL #4 - OFF
DIL #5 - ON
DIL #6 - OFF
thanx,
justin

tested electronics and everything is fine.
opened up some new 3300mah 7cell battery packs, while testing my 1 year old 3000's. sure enough the batteries were the issue - issue solved.
changed gearing to 16/84, and it rips. my other BL's should be fun now with the new 3300mah battery packs. :D
thanx,
justin

Cool. Glad you got it figured out. The other cars should be noticeably faster as well!
