what neu on 4s - 08.14.2008, 12:55 PM

what would be the best neu to run on 4s in a savage?

Would one of the castle neus be good when they came out you think?

I assume this is for the Savage in your sig? If so, a 1515 size minimum, unless you are using the 2/3 speed tranny. For 4s, anything with a kv around 2200 +/- 500kv work fine.

I think the 1515 1.5 d/f would be my choice. Both the CC setups would work out nicely on 4s.

If it were mine, I'd go with a 1515/1Y

I'm using the 2 speed tranny...my 9xl gets too hot like 190 so im thinking of going for a neu...maybe I'll wait for the castle motors and see how they are...my main thing is havng a motor that will never get too hot on any surface..if I lose some power to get that reliability I'll be ok with that.

I'm gonna use the 1515 2d (2050kv)on 4s in my savage. Mike recommended it.

1y is 2200kv and will be faster than the 2d but still well below the 60000rpm limit. I even run the 1y on 5s.

Would the 2d run cooler than the 1y? What temps should i expect from each? And how would these motors compare to my 9xl speed wise

Sure it would, it would have to run a little cooler. I might not even notice the difference.

I'd use the 2d, and if you feel like bumping up to 5s, you will have a kickass 5s motor as well.

THE 1Y IS KICK ASS ON 4S OR 5S....... Temps will not be very different at all with both of them being 1515's

well now I'm stumped between the two LOL. Maybe I'll wait for the castle neu...I really have no idea. I'm leaning a little toward the 2d right now as it may run cooler...and for my driving the 9xl is fast enough I just can't stand the temp problems anymore...does anyone know yet what neu motors the castle ones will be equivelant to?
