Question My fire MGM question - 08.28.2008, 05:23 PM

OK 5 days have pass since my MGM 16018 catch in fire, and i've many questions in my head. First, is my motor could cause this MGM failure????? Is a phase in the motor could be short???? But i've test my motor with my Mamaba Controler on 3s, with no load (motor in my hands, not in the truck) and all run fine.

If i take a close look at the board on the MGM, they're just one side of the FET's that burn out.

Or it's just the controller that was tired?? My MGM was solidely fix on the frame of my e-revo (bolted by the threads holes in the heatsink on a plexiglass plate on the frame). Could this be the reason for the failure?? Too much vibration???? Because when my controller catch fire, the negatif cooper tubing were the negatif input lead is weld have completly un-weld from the 4 board.

:neut ral:

I'am scared to connect my new MMM on my Neu motor................

I doubt its your motor.

Seems like the MGM just couldnt handle the current, and went into meltdown- a more common cause of esc failures generally.
