How would I charge this. - 11.05.2005, 12:07 AM

Hey guys,
This is a used starter box that I got yesterday and the battery is dead on it. Would I be able to use by r/c charger to charge this? It's an MRC 959. Or do I need a car charger.
Thanks.

Aw, man......I know this one.......Tower has overnight ones, but I can't remember what they're called, if nothing else MetalMan has a 12v like that and would know.

EDIT: Short answer, your 959 can't do it, those only work on Nickel packs (Nicd and Nimh).

You can get a wall trickle charger that would be an overnight charger. Any LHS that sells airplane parts should have this item, as flyers might need it to charge their batteries at the field.

There are some other chargers that can charge the lead acid batteries. I just don't remember all that does.

Peace!

I am pretty sure the multiplex charger I carry can charge them, along with a few other chargers. I use a car charger on my starter batteries, but if you don't have one, there are less expensive ways to get it charged! You could even hook it to your full size car with some jumper cables and let it idle for a while!

Allright, I'll try the free route first (jumper cables) and see if that works.
Thanks Mike.

Yep, jumper cables worked. Should be good enough for me to try out my new X-Terminator tomorrow.

Yes, the 969 will, but the 959 he has won't.
