Actually, just the opposite. As the pack warms up it gets more powerfull. Not sure about if its overheated though.

If you are seeing temps over 130 you should look onto reducing the power you setup is drawing. The packs are not keeping up with the demand and wont be lasting very long in that situation.

Man, 100 is more then fine. I usually heat mine to 100-110 so the resistance lowers a bit.

100 is fine, barely warm.

I have some 4500 30c enerland cell packs, and they get up past 130f after a decent run. They still put out power, but I can feel the voltage drop near the end of the run. I may have to go up to a more powerful lipo.

Setup is a hacker c50 11xl in a lst with a MMM. 6s 4500 30c lipos, good for 135amps, but i have heard that the 30c lipos do not hold voltage as good as the 25c ones do... Maybe get a 6000 25c 6s pack... Expensive! Maybe just gear down a bit!!!!

I can feel the power drop a little at the end of a run also, but not dramatically. Usually when I start to notice the drop off I'll stop running rather than run all the way to the cut off.

hmm...is this a fact? reason why i ask is because my truck always seems to be the fastest within the first 3 mins of hard driving. after the 3 mins, it seems noticaably slower, not much but i can tell.
or is my eyes just playing tricks on me. or can this really happen?

Maybe your packs aren't reaching 100-110 after 3 minutes, which probably means your setup probably isn't powerful enough to eliminate the 4.2 volts/cell that your packs initally start at.

it gets to 100 in like 10 mins though.

I think I read somewhere that a pack should not exceed 50deg C.

I don't think there should be a huge voltage drop towards the end of the run. Power drop is noticeable but not should not be drastic. Usually by that time, LVC kicks in.

In addition, also read somewhere in these forums that to conserve the life of a lipo, it is better to set the LVC a little higher. There is not much inpact to the capacity of the lipo. I ran my PQ 5S 5000mah in an X2 until LVC kicked in set at 3.1V per cell. I managed to put pack more than 4900mah during charging (less than 100mah penalty in this case).

Joe Ling
