I run the 2.5d in my erevo racer as well.. it's very nice. I do beg to differ though there is no way you can fit that 25t pinion and 68t spur :P I had to cut out a ton of material just to make a 26t/58t fit no way no how any larger spur would fit on there w/ the 26t. W/O cutting away 58t is prob the biggest you can fit w/ the 25t pinion, if you removed some material you may squeeze the 62t on but I really doubt it. With a 25t pinion on the erevo you true options are 54, 56, 58. I will say pushing it with these larger pinions does keep the temps pretty high, I would love to run a 5s config but it would throw off the weight and it's just not worth the $$$'s for the lipo's. You can get great 2s 30c packs for just over $100 now (polyquest etc) hard shell and all. Expect reduced prices as makers such as Losi dump their offerings to the masses as well.
Back on the 8ight-e Truggy... the electri-clutch is awesome and really gives you some nice control on the track, if you bash the pinion direct drive is great but if you race the clutch is sweet. I already have the electri-clutch in my 8ight-e buggy and I've run it both nitro and direct.. again the clutch is best.
Id take the pinion over going back to nitro though ;P LOL
