Front Bearing on Medusa MR-036-060-2000V2-5 - 10.22.2008, 11:12 PM

Today I had the front bearing on my Medusa MR-036-060-2000V2-5 just disappear..I was running my Brushless Mugen X5-T when all of sudden it stopped..Everything was running great..Temps were very low, power was great..The gearing seems to be right on..I am running on 4S as well..Anyone else have any issues with the front bearing just blowing out of the medusa motor..I think it was just a freak incident..I replaced it with a new Medusa motor and so far no issues..Hopefully I can get the motor warranteed.. Just want to see if anyone else has had this happen..BTW here are some pics of my Beast..

Firend of mine had problem with medusa right of the box. Rear bearing made noise and he noticed minor slop in that bearing. He changed it by self, too much trouble send back to medusa from europe. And my motor have some disbalance on mid RPM's but works strong and cool. I believe that MedUSA have some quality issues...

That's interesting. This is the first time I've heard of Medusas having any issues. I've seen people abuse them pretty hard and they hold up. I'm sure in Buggies and Truggies they won't last as long as something with a clutch because the motor can take some harsh impacts, but they seem to be excellent motors (especially for the price, forget Feigao).

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

I had a Medusa in my Savage do the same thing, the front bearing just shredded. They were good about replacing it, but they did note that their stuff is made for airplanes and not for, quote, "surface vehicles".

I tossed a Neu front bearing after about 1/2 a season of racing (1515 1.5d) in my erevo, so it happens to them all, I'm sure all bearings are not created equally :)

My Medusa has been flawless.I think your just seeing the same issues all manufacturers have,a certain failure rate, especially when there business explodes like Medusa's has.
