MM not making arming noise - 11.02.2008, 03:09 PM

Hi all, decided to borrow a friend's MM while my MMMv2 was getting replaced. So I was running it with a 30 mm fan on a 10th scale track, not too bumpy and no big jumps. I am running with 5s1p A123 pack, Losi 8b, MM, Medusa 36-60 2000kV. The car suddenly stops. I pull it off the track and the ESC is only 106 degrees. The motor is 150. When I turn the switch on and off, the LEDs flash but there is no noise coming from the MM. I can hit the throttle and brake and the LEDs look normal but nothing is happening with the motor. I checked the motor connections and they are fine. Only unusual thing I noticed is that one of the screws that holds the ESC casing on came off and that the screw on the other side was loose. I checked the inside of the ESC and it was pretty clean and no burn marks or anything. I wiped off as much dust as I could with a paint brush, changed to fresh A123 pack and tried again. Sometimes it makes a faint beep and sometimes no sound at all. Anyone have any insight on this? Would hate to break CC off with a 50 dollar check for a 2 cent problem. Thanks in advance!

Mine doesn't make sound but it also doesn't run. From my understanding I think the sound comes from the motor and not the ESC. I tried connecting it to another motor I have lying around and still no noise and the motor doesn't spin. Also, I updated the firmware before I ran it. I also tried re-installing the firmware but still no luck.

Call up support and have them walk you through the steps. I had one that had no tones and wouldn't recalibrate to the control. As soon as you pluged in a battery it qwas hot and ready to go.
