IMAX B5 charger question - 12.04.2008, 01:11 PM

Would a IMAX B5 charger work for a Thunder Power extreme 4s 5000mah battery? Do I need any thing else besides what comes with it? http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=5549

thanks for your help

According to the site, it uses a JST-XH charge plug. Not sure what the TP packs use, but there are adaptors you can get, or make your own if it doesn't fit.

Otherwise, it'll charge a 4s battery, but only up to 50w. At the start of the charge, you'll only be able to charge at around 3.5A, and as the battery voltage rises to 4.2v/cell, you'll only be able to charge at ~3A. If you want to charge that 5Ah pack at 1C, you'll need a charger capable of at least 84w.

Also, the B5 needs a 12v power supply. ~8A @ 12v
