Help Going MAD!

I wanted to make some links for my new clod crawler...

So I was told to get:

- 1/4" Ali tubing with .049 Wall thickness i,e, .15" ID
- 6/32 Threaded rod...

Well in Metric that should be:

- 3.81mm Inner Diameter
- 4.76mm Threaded rod

Well I have no idea what is going on because the 6/32 rod and the 6/32 tap measure 3.7mm wide and slide right through the rod! Bloody imperial measurements!

Now an M4 does thread ok but could take more...

What do I need 8/32 rod & tap?

This makes no sense to me...

#1: Yeah, you were given bad info. A 6-32 needs a tap drill of .1065, not .15. You need to be up in the #10-32 size for a .15 hole.

#2: quit converting it to metric. You need to face the reality that you now live in the backwards united states of america. I gave up on using metric a long time ago, 'cause you just can't find them in ready quantities locally.

Now that makes a a touch more sense that 6-32 is not 6/32 but size 6 which means F-all (sorry kiddies)

Looks like if I get some M4 thread 0.157" that is close to 10 - Then I can use existing taps and traxxas Revo rod ends...

I use K&S 1/4" OD tube, and tap it to 4mm:

Then I insert 4x20mm set screws with epoxy (to keep them from moving in the tube) and add Revo/Jato rod ends after the epoxy has hardened. Surprisingly I have yet to see one of these links fail, even when used for steering. These tubes can even be bent without worrying about the stress from bending (I have done up to 30 deg.).
