G3R with E-Revo factory transmission - 12.09.2008, 05:20 PM

Hey guys. Some of you will recognize me from the Traxxas forum but this is my first post on RCM.

My friend and I are both looking to replace our future E-Revos' stock chassis with the GMaxx G3R. But we can't find any information regarding the mounting hole distances of the E-Revo transmission.

Would it work?

If you aren't sure (like me and Hal) consider this:

The chassis is made for the E-Maxx transmission (3906)
The E-Maxx trans fits in the regular nitro Revo's chassis
The Revo transmission has the same outer mounts as the E-Maxx
Which means the Revo tranny will fit in the G3R chassis and if that's true and the E-Revo mounts are 60mm x 90mm like the Revo's mounts, then the E-Revo trans will fit right in the G3R

That's all true right?

It does fit but with some work - the hole spacing are different but can be made to work.

FLM did make a plate but it is hard to come by - Mike may be able to get you one.

That's pretty good to hear. What kind of work is necessary if I can't find the FLM plate?

I would guess it requires marking some new holes, drilling and tapping them

I'd just make a 4mm plate which goes into existing holes and then drill into the plate for new transmission.

I think this is what the FLM plate did.

Just out of curiosity, can anyone give me the dimensions of the screws for the E-Revo transmission?

Whoops. Poorly worded question on my part. I was wondering how far apart the mounting screws are in the transmission.

Thanks!
