hello i have already konw kontronik produtcs from germany and they are good , but now they comes with new esc´s that looks great for cars use:

with hard case and many new functions...
does any one have tried one of these?
and what do you guy´s think of htese controllers?

quality always have a price!!
for me are better that mmm, because so far no problems with that esc´s and the enterprise that made themgive guarantee and give repair options to the costumers!!

is a good reason to buy them!!

You will find them in a few builds in Europe (germany especially). MTs, Truggys, buggys and they seem to work well. Jives are multipurpose ESCs with one car program (forward with proportional brake). No backward though. They are waterproof and feature a powerfull switching BEC. 2 series are available. HV -> up to 12s with bec and LV -> up to 6s with BEC.

Downsides:
. only a few programing features (with prog Card only): no start up power or motor ramp up time
. Checks motor inductivity and may not start up with verly low resistance motors depending on the voltage you feed.
. No backward option
. pricey

I'm using kontroniks older Jazz Series with 9-11s1p A123. After more then one year of usage and over 500 logged runs i'm a satisfied kontronik client ;-)

As it is a multipurpose ESC you can choose to mount a heatsink (car/plane/heli) or a water cooling block (boat) to push Amp capabilities by up to 2 times. I never saw one with installed heatsink in a car built ... seems to be an efficient ESC with enough power reserves.

the new jive´s have backwards too... i have read it on the manual!!

maybe one of this on a e-revo with a neu will be reliable and a beast!!

i only don´t now if we can connect 4s or more direct like the mmm and without having to do that external bec thing!!!

4s will run, it has a built in BEC. What is the point of spending all that money on a Jive and not going high voltage? I think a jive 80 HV and a neu 1515 2.5y or a mega 22/45/3E would be great for 12s...

The manual states that the car mode is only "one direction" with proportional brake. There is a special mode which has the same effect as if you would switch 2 of the 3 motor cables ... reversing motor direction.

It's a matter of sofware. The jive ESCs do miss the second car mode (which you will find in Jazz ESCs) which had reverse incorporated.

A fan....I know you like fans Brian . It could be used for anything else that needs to be powered. I hope Kontronik will lower the price for these ESCs to be competitive here in the US. All the stuff I read about them in rcgroups though have been somewhat on the bad side, but that's from the guys flying the Helis.
