What lipos/ charger should I use for my hv6.5? - 12.16.2008, 09:46 PM

I have a Emaxx 3905 with the hv maxx 6.5 brushless setup in it. I want to switch to lipos. I was thinkings spc's 5000mah packs. But I am not sure. since they are only 15c's. What are other good ones? I will not buy Maxamps again. Also what are a good charger for them? I want to charge both packs in about an hour.

You are limited to 4S, and with your battery trays (unless you change to a strap) you'll need to get a pair of 2S, or run a single 3S. Brand depends on your wallet. Mike has some new batteries that look good, and Neu's are one of the lower priced high end batteries. I'd look for 25 to 30C.
Hyperion Duo sounds like the charger you want. Built in balancers, but you'll need Kokam adaptors.

I wanted to do 2 2s packs. Which brand is mikes? I was thinking the hyperion duo. But you have to get a Powers supply too. which is getting expensive.

I believe they are Enerland cells.. THere is a write about them in the pre-sales forum, or somewhere like that.

Yes, if you were to buy a new power supply, it will get pricey. I found a used 25amp on my local RC-Tech forum for 25 bucks(just posted that I needed one, and voila'- got a response). It works well so far charging my 5S lipos, and charging my A123's at 9A.
Check Radio Shack for a low priced power supply.

http://www.maxamps.com/EOS0610i-DUO2.htm Best charger arguably you can get

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXLWF4&P=ML Has worked so well for me I will endorse it, a bit expensive but the coupon get $30 or so off,... Others will chime in for me mentioning this one so consider it a contemplation point to the better stuff LOL

http://progressiverc.com/2S_Lipo.html Most lipos, size capacity etc. I cant recommend ones that fit, 45mmw X 160mmL X 25mmH the 3905 I used maxamps 5000ks and they died )all along) in 6 months, then I bought Neu 30c 5ks and a gorillamaxx chassis to fit them because they are 167 ish mm long and am loving life

Just some stuff to research
