This was when I went to bed.

This is when I got up.

It's still snowing. The City (pop. 456,175 in 2007) and surrounding areas are pretty much shut down. The City buses all went back to their terminal. They get a snow day too. The Police and State Patrol have requested everyone stay off the roads.

Your never too old to enjoy a snow day!

Mid 70's and muggy in Da Dell (slightly north of New Orleans). Is has been very foggy recently, which is unusual for this area. Horrible weather, about 5000% humidity. If you live somewhere with low humidity levels, consider yourself lucky.

I missed the recent snow. We got 3 inches last week, but I was in orlando... Missed the last time it snowed too, back in 2004...

I believe "I got" is a statement of he has, not he received. I could be way off base here though.

I did that in college to make a little extra money. I loved it (then). Was the first I ever knew there was more than one 4 o'clock.

I agree that you guys that get the ice storms are in a world of hurt. Freezing rain is the second worst stuff I have ever driven in (several blizzards were the worst - sucks when you cant even see the front of your truck, and you cant stop cause someone behind you will never see you).

In our area, people in Exporers are the worst drivers in these conditions. They are the soccer mom vehicle of choice, and most have no clue as to the conditions. Most guys in trucks drive fairly sane, albeit a little faster than the cars. I've driven probably a hunderd thousand miles in snow and ice in my time - been lucky, been good, and been damn lucky a couple times, but have never been more than just a little sideways. But I also had to laugh at the guys trying to get to work in their 'Vettes and Mustangs. I'm not really sure what their thought process was to think that they were making a good choice drivng something like that in conditions like this.

The one nice thing is that holiday shopping has been much nicer for those of us who completely avoid the malls at this time of year.
