Near as dammit- the V3 puts out just shy of 6v, the older V1 and V2 put out closer to 5.5v I believe.

really 6v's, My V1 wont die so I have no need to send it in, that extra .5v sounds nice though with all my 40's and aluminum

My V1 checks at 5.5v almost exactly and my V2 and V3 both check at 6V. I think they changed it but never updated the documentation.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

I think it's safe to say that Castle, knowing the MMM is for MT/8th scale apps, would build in enough current to supply at least one hi-torque steering servo, and a brake servo...

I say that, but I'm using an external BEC in my MMM. I just have an issue where the entire BEC circuit is stuffed onto the same board as the brains. Even though switchig BECs are efficient, there is still some loss (heat) and I like it to run as cool as possible given the cost of the receiver/servos it is hooked to.

the extra heat the bec creates is easily handled by a fan

You dare use the "f" word in my presence! If it weren't so close to Christmas, and it was the Traxxas forum, you'd get warning points young man!

No. I just hate them. Heck, I have some in my computer, but that's stationary. Fans are just a band-aid for a poorly designed/implemented R/C IMO. I'm keeping the fan in my MMM V3 only because I have to for the warranty. If I had a little more faith in this ESC where I wouldn't need a warranty, I'd remove that fan too.

JJ: There isn't a word in the english language to articulate my feelings for that setup.
