my 1515 1y died today. man i knew something was wrong when it had absolutely no torque. withen 1 min it was at 210* and it smells. wow even the best motor i managed to kill. this sucks! wonder if neu will look at it. its only 3months old!
i turn the shaft and its hard to turn. i feels like when you touch the motor wires together
and it gets harder to turn. it always ran good untill now. it stinks of burning wire

Just about every brushless motor will behave this way.
If you are turning it by hand, it's generating a small amount of electricity. When you touch the wires together and turn it, then you short the amount being generated.

i understand that. but im not shorting them . its shorting inside the can.
i can see it. the blue input wire is melted.
Neu has excellent customer service...contact them and they will tell you how long of a turn around you are looking at for replacement. I toasted my 6 month old 1512 1yf and sent it in overnight and had a new one in my hand in 14 days!

Did the insulation actually melt, or did it wear through and cause the wires to short against the can, then the heat caused the surrounding insulation to melt further- thats what Neu will probably look closely at. The burnt wire smell probably means the enamel coating on the wires is toast- motor is probably a rightoff saddly.

yeah it looks to me as the windings are probably shot. the wires are melted (the copper is melted) hope i can get it replaced.
