i turn the shaft and its hard to turn. i feels like when you touch the motor wires together
and it gets harder to turn. it always ran good untill now. it stinks of burning wire

Just about every brushless motor will behave this way.

If you are turning it by hand, it's generating a small amount of electricity. When you touch the wires together and turn it, then you short the amount being generated.

Look for the macro feature on your camera, most have it. Usually looks like a flower. That will let you get close up shots.

Sorry to hear about your motor, that's a real bummer. :(

4mp should be plenty. Make sure you press the button half way down and allow the camera to focus. Then push full down and snap the picture. :)

Neu has excellent customer service...contact them and they will tell you how long of a turn around you are looking at for replacement. I toasted my 6 month old 1512 1yf and sent it in overnight and had a new one in my hand in 14 days!

Did the insulation actually melt, or did it wear through and cause the wires to short against the can, then the heat caused the surrounding insulation to melt further- thats what Neu will probably look closely at. The burnt wire smell probably means the enamel coating on the wires is toast- motor is probably a rightoff saddly.
