Unhappy Battery straps for FLM chassis??? - 12.14.2005, 04:41 PM

Hi, I have been trying to figure out how to attach 16 cells per side on the new chassis. I can't evan figure out how to do the 8 on top! Here are some pictures of what Flm sent me. Anyone who can see a way to use these straps your help is welcome.

Are they not like Gorillas? They shouldn't go around the top/bottom of the chassis, if they do thats a real bad design.

Best wait for Mikes custom straps out of Allu'.

These are the ones I got with my chassis. I was just trying to figure out how they might work.

WHAT? I thought they were metal for side x side packs like the UE lightning chassis? Dude if those are straps that came with it im pretty disapointed....

they must have messed up because when you look at the chassis at each battery length there is a hole where the post go for the battery hold downs like the UE chassis.

Yea I saw the aluminium hold downs they made. I think I will ask Mike about it and see what's up?

If I were to guess, I would think that you have it correct in the 2nd picture, but then there would be one shorter strap per side to keep the batteries from sliding off to the side.

They are made to wrap around the chassis. It is not a great design. I used the gmaxx straps. I have not problems with them. Use the gmaxx straps with a flm strap across and you will have them secured like metal mans drawing.

to mount 16 per side 8 on top 8 on bottom of chassis

Peace!

yeah, but cant the chassis hold 8 on one side on top or bottom? I gotta get me some UE side by side packs from the looks of it now. aint gonna use no cheap straps like that looking.

When i got my chassis i couldnt even work out how they are supposed to go lol so i used some gorilla maxx straps. Im gonna do what CHC said and use the flm ones so they dont fall out the side :)
