Anyone know how this works??? - 01.16.2009, 02:01 AM

I have all the electrics hooked up in my savage now except for the lipos...
When i turn the wheels (HS7955TG servo is hooked up) i get lights on the BEC and RX... the RX light doesn't come on as easily as the BEC lights tho... I have a video of what's going on...

Sorry - it's a little shaky - the truck is hard to hold still while moving the wheels -lol-

I don't think it's a problem, I'm just curious as to how and why this happens? I've never noticed such a thing before =)

Is that a spectrum rx? If so the servo is over drawing the bec and causing the rx to power off.

That's what it looks like. If you have a Rx pack try plugging that into a spare slot on the Rx. If that fixes it I'd wire up a big capacitor to it, like a Novak Glitch Buster but maybe larger.

err - i'm not sure if you fellas are following me - sorry - i should have had my hands in the video i think hehehe

I'm turning the wheels with my hands - there is no battery hooked up anywhere to the truck - the closest battery is in the TX in the background -lol-

Just curious as to how the servo can power the lights with movement alone? Sorry if you guys realise that - in that case i am just docile -lol-

I guess I should turn my speakers on next time

It sounds like your servo is making just enough power to make the lights come on shortly. Motors can be used as generators, 3rd grade Science class

EDIT: If it works fine when everything is turned on and running, I wouldn't worry about any of that.

EDIT AGAIN: I just picked up my Muggy and turned the wheels back and forth with no batteries even hooked up and the light on my SR3000 lit up just like yours did, seems perfectly normal.

sure is a spekky rx =)

But if i have no batteries hooked up - where does the power come from to make the lights work? (the rx was never on in the first place)

You'll have to forgive my lack of understanding hehehe =)

Thanks mate - i accidentally knocked the wheel and saw the BEC light turn on, which had me very confused - i never usually see the obvious till it's right in front of my eyes -lol-

I never paid much attention either, but Science class was always so much cooler than the rest.

I usually don't notice the obvious at all, it's gotta be hidden for me to see it
