making 7 cell packs for emaxx - 12.18.2005, 05:35 PM

I bought a new emaxx ( arriving tommorrow, I'll be on the porch wagging my tail --- wait , I had that removed when I was little) and ordered 4 orion vmaxx super duty 2400 nicads. i know these aren't the best batteries but i'm not going to race this thing just see what i can climb!!!! But i did want to make 2 7 cell packs so i finally found at batterystation.com 2 sanyo 2400 scr's for $3 each. Does anyone know if the vmaxx packs are sanyo's and will these high capacity scr's work well by adding them to the vmaxx packs. I don't know the difference of scx and scr. is it how fast or how much amps they discharge during running.:C:

Before you use 14 cells, run the Truck on 12 a few times first.

Putting too many volts (14 cells) in it straight a way won't be pretty.

The battery pack is only as good as it weakest cell. I don't know about putting them together. They have the same mah so that is a plus.

As long as they are the same capacity it should be fine.

thanks. I know a pack is only as good as the weakest cell, and that should not be the sanyos i'm adding.

yes they can. I did it with no problems. Drive shafts take the biggest beating with 14 cells. With a set of cvds it is not worries.

Honostly, don't run the EVX first run on 14 cells.

I toasted mine, it needs breaking in using a lower cell count. Don't risk it because if you use 14 cells and break it, it voids the warrenty too (yes, 14 cells does void it).

Better be safe than sorry.

As nick stated, just run it on 12 cells first just to be safe, and get used to the truck, than you can convert them to 14 cells.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL
