RCM batt tray on Losi 8B help... - 01.29.2009, 08:05 PM

How is everyone mounting the RCM battery tray on the Losi 8B. I've been looking at mine and the tray covers 2 of the motor mount holes, but no other holes. These two holes are only about 1" apart and I'm not sure if that will be enough. All the other space to add a hole the chassis is milled out for weight savings, so I won't be able to countersink additional screws. What's everyone doing?

In any of my vehicles, I just drill any extra holes I need and then countersink them.

I like to drill through the tray and drill and tap the chassis for m3 screws.

I have two good motor mount holes to mount the back of the tray, but at the front of the tray the Losi 8B chassis is machined out quite thin. There's no way to thread or countersink that portion of the chassis. For the momment I'm still using my heavier RCPD Ultimate tray. It covers a much larger area and has about 6 pre-drilled holes that match up with the holes in the Losi chassis.
